PG&E STORM INCONVENIENCE REBATE  (2-12-10)

Our four day power outage in late January apparently merits a bit of financial consideration from our electrical supplier, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).  According to a company representative at the extended outage hotline number, Lake Almanor West customers are slated to receive a monetary rebate on their power bill sometime during the next two months.  You do NOT have to apply for the rebate (a "Storm Inconvenience Payment" in their terminology).  You should automatically receive the credit on your PG&E bill for your address here.

From Supervisor Thrall:  (1-27-10)

Good Afternoon Again:  I am forwarding additional information from Plumas Co. Building Department regarding snow load and damage repair.

REGARDING SNOW LOAD:

Department Head, John Cunningham, wants me to remind everyone that the Building Dept. has a handout describing how to do your own measurements (should you wish to do them).  Also, if you do decide to shovel your roof be sure to remove snow equally over the roof as you dig.  Do not remove all the snow from one side before moving to the other side this can cause unusual snow loading and could cause structural problems. - Sherrie

Greetings:

The Building Department performed roof snow load sampling today in the Almanor Basin.  This was done to determine the weight of snow on roofs in the area.  Structures in the Almanor Basin have been required to be designed to a minimum 100 lbs/sqft snow load, since approximately 1970.  The result of today’s sampling is less than 40 lbs/sqft of snow on roofs in the basin.

 John Cunningham

REGARDING BUILDING REPAIR AND PERMITS:

Greetings,

If you are involved in a project involving repair work caused by the recent winter storms, please be sure to mention that when submitting for the building permit.  Our goal for these repair submittals is to provide a maximum 24-hour turn-around, over-the counter when possible; assuming we receive a complete and adequate submittal

All repairs, alternations, etc., require a building permit, and all repair work is required to meet current code requirements.  Building permit submittal documents shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of code. The drawings are required to be dimensioned and drawn to scale.

  SETTING THE BOARD AGENDA

The WACC Board of Directors would like to invite any member to submit to the WACC office    any item that they would like to have on the monthly Board Meeting Agenda.

This can be done by submitting it in writing to the WACC office or via email at wacc@citlink.net. Be sure that the topic has the background information that you would like us to know about and what it is that you would like the Board to be considering.

If you are unclear as to what or how, please give me a call.

The tentative agenda is posted 1 week prior to the Board Meeting. In the past, the Board actually met to review what the final agenda would look like. There didn't seem to be member interest to attend this, maybe being able to submit items this way may work better for some.

Please submit to the WACC office by Wed. August 19th any item you would like to have placed on the monthly agenda. I will post that agenda no later than 4 days prior to the meeting.

I look forward to your input.
